Switch #:
SWTI000203
Switch type:
Binary
Switch subtype:
Physicochemical compatibility

Description:
Phosphorylation of S95 and S109 and S111 adjacent to the EB1-binding motif of Kinesin-like protein KIF2C (KIF2C) by Aurora kinase B (AURKB) and Aurora kinase B (AURKB) and Aurora kinase B (AURKB) inhibits its interaction with Microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 (MAPRE1), thereby inhibiting microtubule tip tracking.

Participants:
(1) Kinesin-like protein KIF2C (KIF2C)
(2) Microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 (MAPRE1)

Interactions
Interaction #1 KIF2C - MAPRE1

Interfaces
(1) LIG_SxIP_EBH_1 motif (93RRSVNSKIPAPK104) in Kinesin-like protein KIF2C (KIF2C)
(2) EB1-like C-terminal motif (209-248) in Microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 (MAPRE1)

Interaction Regulation
PTM-dependent Abrogation (Phosphorylation of S95, S109 and S111 on Kinesin-like protein KIF2C (KIF2C)) of the Kinesin-like protein KIF2C (KIF2C) LIG_SxIP_EBH_1 motif - Microtubule-associated protein RP/EB family member 1 (MAPRE1) EB1-like C-terminal motif interaction

Regulatory Enzymes for switch
Modifying enzymes for residue: S95: Aurora kinase B (AURKB); S109: Aurora kinase B (AURKB); S111: Aurora kinase B (AURKB)
